    {Jake English X Reader SadStuck}



    He felt nails digging in to his shoulders, and shaking reverberating against his back. When Jake flipped over, he saw his beloved (Name) with tears streaming down her face and her lip bleeding from biting too hard.

    Jake pulled her to him and slightly shook her in hopes of waking her from whatever terrible nightmare had her so spooked. When her eyes finally opened, he let out a sigh of relief.

    “Dearest, what had you in such a fright? I think we might have to change the sheets because they’re literally dripping.” (Name) wiped her eyes, reaching for a tissue from the box on their bedside table. Jake waited patiently for her to calm down.

    “Well Jake, I had the worst dream I think I’ve ever had.” She sniffled and blew her nose. “We were on one of your adventures, like we usually do and having so much fun. All of the sudden you pulled me over to this cliff to watch the ocean. But then…The cliff broke apart! You pushed me out of the way; I had to watch you tumble down like a rag doll!

    “Oh silly (Name), do you think a master explorer such as myself wouldn’t carry a grappling hook for such occasions?” She giggled and shook her head. Jake wrapped an arm around her shoulders and pulled her ear to his chest. “Now listen here love, that’s my heart. It beats for you, and only you.”

    (Name) smiled and snuggled closer before whispering how much she loved him.



    Beep! Beep! Beep!



    Jake woke up and slammed his fist down on the alarm to stop its annoying sound. And when he turned over in bed, there was nothing. A cold spot on the bed that would remain empty. A dry chuckle worked its way up his throat as tears came to his eyes.

    That’s right. (Name) had been gone for years. In fact, she died the exact same way she said he died.

    To think that she sacrificed herself to save him, all because he wanted to show her the ocean.

    That was Jake’s biggest mistake of all. He turned over once more and tried to forget about the girl who used to sleep next to him, but there was no forgetting. Right where he stared was a picture of (Name).
